Search Tips

🔍 Finding a Document

Use the search box on the results page to filter through the archive.

  • How I’ve named the files: Every file starts with the date in a YYYYMMDD format (e.g. 20260131). This allows you to sort them chronologically using the “Sort by Meeting Date” option.
  • Exact Phrases: If you are looking for a specific phrase, wrap it in quotes, like “Penryn Street”.
  • Committee Search: You can combine terms. For example, searching “Planning 2024” will show you all Planning Committee documents from that year.

📄 Searching Inside a Document

Once you click “View PDF”, the document opens in your browser’s viewer. To find a specific word within that document, use the following shortcuts based on your device:

  • Mac: Press Command (⌘) + F
  • A search box will appear at the top. Type your word and use the arrows to jump to each mention.

📱 iPhone & iPad (Safari)

  1. Tap the Share icon (the square with an up arrow).
  2. Scroll down and tap Find on Page.
  3. Type your word; matching text will be highlighted.

🤖 Android (Chrome)

  1. Tap the Three Dots (⋮) in the top-right corner.
  2. Tap Find in page.
  3. Type your search term and use the arrows to navigate the highlights.

💡 Accessibility Notes

I have made every effort to ensure these scans are high-quality, but some very old historical documents may have slight imperfections in the text recognition. If you encounter a file that is difficult to read or search, please let me know so I can look into a manual correction.
